A Wilder
Summer
Days and nights in wild nature for 11-18s. Room to roam, create, adventure and slow right down, on an 80-acre rewilding site in Monmouthshire.
Our invitation
You're Invited
Wilder Connections is delighted to invite you to our first 'Wilder Summer', a series of pilot events exploring how best to invite young people into relationship with the natural world. Led by experienced facilitators, we believe in working with young people to create unforgettable experiences for them in nature.
Whether a group is interested in foraging, survival skills, playful games or creative activities, we ensure each event's rhythm best suits their needs.
As this is a pilot programme, we would love you to share your feedback with us throughout the event, both via questionnaires and verbal feedback.
What to expect
The Shape of the Days
Our events include large group activities (between 15-20 young people), smaller group workshops (7-10 young people) and unstructured time to connect with each other and the natural world.
During our Family Camps, activities are provided separately for young people (aged 11-18) and parents, with any younger sibling, however we come together for shared meals. Parents are responsible for their young people overnight and there is a high staff to young person ratio (minimum 1:4).
What you'll be doing
Light a fire. Forage the hedgerows.
Make things with your hands, play big games in big fields, and find a quiet corner of the woods that's yours.

Care, access & safety
How We Hold the Space
What's the Cost?
We believe the opportunity to experience and connect with wilder nature should be accessible to all, so there is no charge for these events. However, we welcome donations to cover food costs and the ongoing provision of these experiences. If tent access or transportation costs are a barrier to attending a Wilder Summer, please contact us directly.
Additional Needs
We recognise that there are a diversity of needs within every group and we try to be attentive to this in our design of each event. We would love it if you could let us know if there's anything we can do to improve your experience with us, e.g. more breaks, time in smaller groups, accessible activities. Please let us know on your booking form.
Keeping Young People Safe
The safety and wellbeing of every young person with us comes first, and we design each event around it. All our facilitators hold an enhanced DBS check and are trained in first aid. We work to a high adult-to-young-person ratio, so there is always someone close at hand. Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Dr Chloe Constable, and safeguarding is overseen at trustee level. We have a safeguarding policy in place, which we are happy to share on request.
If anything ever worries you, before, during or after an event, please talk to us. You can speak to any of our facilitators on the day, or contact our Designated Safeguarding Lead directly at chloe@grangeproject.co.uk. We will always listen and we will always take it seriously.
